· Open to government institutions and NGOs from UN-designated Small Island Developing States (SIDS) across the Caribbean, Pacific, and AIMS regions.
· Government institutions are preferred — forestry departments, environmental agencies, and equivalent state bodies.
· NGOs must provide a letter of support from the relevant national authority, confirming coordination with the relevant quarantine and biosecurity authorities.

· Three participating institutions are selected per project cycle.

· Capacity Building (Training of Trainers Course & On-site Advisory) and Long-term Conservation (Strategy, Seed Collection & Storage) are provided as standard, including both financial and technical support.
· KoAGI provides funding for in-country seed collection and storage activities to each participating institution.
· Research activities proceed only upon mutual agreement between both parties, and are conducted following the completion of seed collection.

· The total project budget is KRW 15,000,000 (approx. USD 10,000 — subject to exchange rate fluctuation) per participating institution.
· The majority of the budget must be directed towards seed collection and storage activities.
· Projects must include the collection of at least 55 species.
· Only seeds with known and confirmed orthodox storage properties can be included. If the storage characteristics of a species have not yet been identified, or if a species is recalcitrant or intermediate, it cannot be included in the project.

· Collected seeds are to be stored in duplicate at the Baekdudaegan Global Seed Vault (BGSV) and the participating institution's own seed bank.
· If your institution does not have long-term seed storage facilities, seeds may be shared within the country.
· Institutions that do not have seed banks but have seed collection capabilities are eligible to apply.

· All partnerships are governed by MoU and MoA prior to commencement.
· A Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) or other relevant documents may additionally be required for seed movement in accordance with national law and the Nagoya Protocol.

· All rights to deposited seeds remain with the country of origin.
· Only the depositing institution has the right to access its seeds held at BGSV.

· In the event of a significant threat to a species — including risks arising from climate change, habitat loss, or extinction — deposited seeds may be withdrawn upon formal request by the depositing country. KoAGI will coordinate the return of seeds to the depositing country in accordance with the terms of the applicable agreement.

1. IUCN Red List Status of Collected Species · Priority is given to institutions whose proposed collection list includes a higher proportion of threatened species, ranked in the following order: CR (Critically Endangered) > EN (Endangered) > VU (Vulnerable) > NT (Near Threatened)

2. Proportion of Endemic Species in the Collection List · Priority is given to institutions whose proposed collection list includes a higher proportion of endemic species — i.e., species found nowhere else in the world — out of the required 55 species.

3. Climate Vulnerability of the Applicant Country · Priority is given to institutions from SIDS nations where a greater proportion of land area lies below 5 metres above sea level, reflecting heightened urgency for conservation due to climate-induced habitat loss.
